πππ WHAT A FINISH! TPS GIRLS CRICKET TEAM THROUGH TO THE RIVERINA FINAL! πππ
WHAT A GAME!
Our Tocumwal Public School Girls Cricket Team has secured a thrilling ONE-RUN VICTORY over South Wagga Public School, winning 62β61 in a nail-biting contest that came down to the very last ball! π
Played at the Tocumwal Cricket Oval, the match had it all β outstanding bowling, sharp fielding, determined batting and a finish that kept everyone on the edge of their seats!
Captain Kobi bowled first, claiming wickets with her first two deliveries and finishing with outstanding figures of 3 wickets for just 5 runs! π She was brilliantly supported by Rose, Mila, Emily, Whilloe, Ivy, Chelsea and Emilia, with fantastic teamwork and sharp fielding resulting in FOUR RUN-OUTS, restricting South Wagga to 61 runs.
Our innings got off to a tough start, with Kobi dismissed on the very first delivery. Mila got the scoreboard moving with a lovely boundary, while Emily and Whilloe battled hard at the crease. Chelsea and Ivy then combined for a fantastic partnership, showing tremendous patience, concentration and determination to keep our hopes alive. When Chelsea was dismissed, Rose joined Ivy at the crease, and the girls continued to fight hard.
It all came down to the FINAL BALL, and our girls held their nerve to claim an unforgettable one-run victory! ππ What an incredible effort from every member of the team!
A huge thank you to Greg Tunn for umpiring, Christina Arthur for her wonderful support, and the Tocumwal Cricket Club for providing the oval and preparing such a fantastic playing surface. We really appreciate your ongoing support of school sport!
π NEXT STOP: THE RIVERINA FINAL! π
Our girls will now travel to take on Young Public School in what promises to be another exciting contest!
Congratulations, girls! Your teamwork, resilience and determination have made our whole school community incredibly proud (once again!). ππ
Good luck in the Riverina Final β we'll all be cheering you on! ππ
