🪇🌈 Children's Week 2026 🌈🪇

Children's Week is a time to celebrate the unique strengths, voices, and rights of children, while recognising the important role they play in our families, communities, and future.

This year's theme highlights every child's right to use their own language, celebrate their culture, and practice their religion. Throughout the week, local organisations and community groups across Toodyay will be hosting a range of activities that encourage learning, creativity, connection, and fun. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒🎉

From storytelling and cultural experiences to playgroups, Kids Club activities, and water play, there are plenty of opportunities for children and families to come together and celebrate what makes our community so special!

Take a look at the program below and join us as we celebrate Children's Week 2026! 💙💚💛💜🩷

🌿 Bush Kindy Adventures at Toodyay Playgroup! 🌿

Our little explorers had a magical morning diving into the world of birds, nature, and storytelling! 🦅🪺✨

Here’s a look at what we got up to:

🪺 Acting Like Native Birds: The children put on their bird headbands (featuring emus and kookaburras!) and transformed into feathered friends.

🎨 Egg Painting: Everyone used watercolors to paint their very own eggs.

🌿 Building Life-Sized Nests: Little hands worked together using straw, twigs, and natural materials to construct cozy, life-sized bird nests to sit in.

🪕 A Special Cultural Visit: A huge, heartfelt thank you to local Noongar man, Elvis, who visited us and played the didgeridoo! It was a truly special experience for the children and adults alike. 🙏🎶

Thank you to everyone who joined us.
