Councillor Donna Gates serves the people of Division 3 and was the city’s Deputy Mayor from 2012 until April 2025.

She is an experienced representative who enthusiastically represents northern Gold Coast. Councillor Donna Gates serves the people of Division 3 and has been the city’s Deputy Mayor since 2012. Cr Gates has had a strong focus on the delivery of major infrastructure for the northern community, including the Upper Coomera Centre, the Ormeau Centre and the Pimpama Sports Hub.

DRAINAGE ISSUES
3 on site meetings today re drainage issues. One through a park, one abutting Genesis Estate and another between an under construction development site and a sloping block of privately owned land. Thanks to all officers who assisted today - particularly Michael, Nathan, Jason and Glenn. Thanks to residents too for their patience while the matters are further considered.

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗦
Finally a project that has been 𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙗𝙪𝙙𝙜𝙚𝙩 and ahead of time. These new signals will help enormously with safety and congestion issues at the intersection of Beattie Road and Dreamworld Parkway and Beattie Road/Whitewater Way.

Operation will be monitored over the coming days to ensure performance is optimised.

Lots happening on the day, with a jumping castle, petting zoo, food and refreshments and the return of the 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗭𝗘 𝟰 -- Nominations are now open—don’t miss your chance to get involved and support a great cause.

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 - The Upper Coomera Library will be closed for refurbishment from tomorrow until Friday 29. Reopening Saturday 30 May.
During the closure, the returns chute located outside the main building entrance will be operational and to minimise any inconvenience, due dates for all library items will be automatically extended during the closure period.
All other services within the Upper Coomera Centre will remain open and unaffected while the library refurbishment is underway.

𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘
Signage is being installed on Baileys Mountain Road, 60m south of Courtney Drive to alert drivers to the Courtney Drive intersection. Corresponding signage will be installed 60m north of Jenkins Court together with a 60kph pavement stencil. Trust this will improve safety.
