We are incredibly proud of Amalia Tredoux, Aliera Tredoux, Lexie Mackay and Lily Hather, who performed in the Acknowledgement to Country to officially open the NSW Secondary Principals’ Conference at the Hyatt Regency Sydney, on the land of the Gadigal people. Led by Biripi, Worimi and Wiradjuri man Josh Sly, the students took part in a powerful Aboriginal dance that honoured the Traditional Custodians of the land and celebrated the strength and richness of Aboriginal culture. Congratulations to these young leaders for representing our school community with pride.

Last week, our Year 9 Visual Design students took part in an exciting Special Effects Makeup workshop led by professional makeup artist and WHS alumni, Sam Bird.

Throughout the semester, students have been exploring Gothic design and the imaginative world of Tim Burton, developing their own Burton inspired characters and designing costume accessories to bring those characters to life. The workshop marked the final stage of this design project, allowing students to transform into their original creations using industry standard special effects makeup techniques. It was fantastic to see their creativity, design skills and character concepts come together through this hands on experience.
