It's with great sadness that we share with our school community that our friend Ann Williams passed away on Saturday, 27th December.
Ann was a valued volunteer in the SAKG program sharing her love for cooking and gardening with our students for many years. It was common for Ann to spend 3 days a week volunteering in the program, over that time becoming a steady, positive influence on all students who spent time with her.
Ann's funeral will be held on a Monday, 5th January, 10.30am at Tobin Brothers Funeral, Moorefield Park Dr, Wodonga.
WWCC sends our deepest condolences to Ann's family, she will be greatly missed.

It was with great pride that I delivered to the Wodonga West Primary School, a seedling propagated from a pine cone brought to Australia from the original Lone Pine in Gallipoli. This tree stands as a symbol of Australian courage, sacrifice and resilience and through this tree, we remember the bond of our ANZACS and draw strength from it in difficult times. I passed the responsibility of this significant seedling to Wodonga West's own Grounds Keeper W***y - Phil. I have absolute confidence he will nurture and care for it for years to come.

Some great advice here for all our families after our transition day today. Lots of big feelings often show up during the end of the year and heading into the start of the following year. Take some handy hints.

Check out this really interesting article on the impacts of technology on our children’s brain. This is particularly important given the new screen time restrictions coming into all Victorian Schools from 2026 for children under the age of 12.
If you’ve noticed your child becoming more irritable, impatient, or “hooked” on screens, you’re not imagining it. Screens don’t just entertain – they rewire the brain’s reward pathways.
Here’s the cycle many children get stuck in… and why it becomes so hard to break without support.
