Our manga class is going great! 😆
We explored the evolution of manga—from ancient Egyptian murals and Chinese lianhuanhua to Japan’s ukiyo-e prints. Then came 20th-century newspaper comics like The Yellow Kid and Tintin, followed by the golden age of Superman, Batman, and Osamu Tezuka, shaping modern manga. Now, AI and multimedia are taking manga global!
We also practiced drawing eyes—the most expressive part of a character! Students focused on structure, angles, and emotions, creating all kinds of anime eyes—cool, cute, melancholic… all covered!
Everyone’s doing amazing! Next up—coloring! Their characters are about to come to life! 👏👏
Who’s your favorite manga character? 😊

🎨 Sharing This Week’s L4 Art Class: Impressionism & Artistic Interpretation ✨
This session focused on understanding Impressionism, how it differs from Realism, and the concept of Artistic Interpretation! 🎨🌅
The children explored the key differences between Realism and Impressionism—Realism aims for detailed, true-to-life depictions, while Impressionism emphasizes light, color, and emotional expression with loose and dynamic brushstrokes. 🖌️✨
We also introduced Artistic Interpretation, encouraging students to go beyond simple imitation by incorporating their own ideas when recreating or reinterpreting an artwork. They learned that art is not just about copying but also about creatively transforming and reimagining styles. 👩🎨🧑🎨

In this lesson, the children explored Mandala Art! 🎨✨
Mandala is a circular art form with symmetry and repeating patterns, originating from Indian and Buddhist cultures. It symbolizes the universe and inner peace. The children first learned about the background and characteristics of mandalas. Then, they used their creativity to design unique mandala patterns, applying colors and lines to create a balanced and harmonious visual effect. 🌈🌀
Each artwork showcases the children‘s patience and imagination! 💡👏
