Waterville & District Firefighters were happy to drop by the Cambridge & District Elementary School today!

Our members touched on the importance of using devices safely, demonstrated the dawning of breathing apparatus and allowed students to see Sparky and check out the trucks.

Each student was given a smoke alarm to take home to their parents, a large investment made by our department through funds raised by the Nova Scotia Firefighters 50-50!

Fire safety starts at home, by presenting students with smoke alarms, we hope our efforts will make homes within our district safer as we transition from fall to winter.

Remember, check your batteries when clocks fall back this weekend, test alarms and ensure your alarm isn’t expired, smoke alarms are only good for 10 years and must be replaced.
