The Fire Hall Museum had its own October surprise October 31st, as the Downtown Cambridge Business Improvement Association staged their Hallowe'en Hunt - inviting trick-or-treaters to visit shops throughout the Galt core area - and the City of Cambridge staged a Hallowe'en festival on Dickson Street, in front of City Hall, and at the Farmers' Market.
The surprise? We had anticipated about 800 ghouls and goblins to collect goodies over the course of the four hour Hallowe'en Hunt, but with the gorgeous fall weather we saw more than 2,200 visitors - almost three times what we expected. Not to worry, everyone went home with a treat or a colouring book.
Thanks to all our volunteers for their hard work; to the Cambridge Fire Department for helping us with fire public education; and to all our visitors for making this our busiest and most successful day ever!
