It has been 24 hours since the election results have been announced. I would like to congratulate Mayor-elect Michael Bondy, Councillor-elect for Ward 7 Amy Finn and all the other successful candidates on your election to office.
Thank you to all the other candidates who put their names forward to serve our community.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported our campaign, volunteered their time, shared ideas, put up a lawn sign, knocked on doors, donated or welcomed us at the door to talk about the issues that matter. Every conversation helped make this campaign possible.
Together we built an organized, positive and professional campaign based on the foundation that Ward 7 residents deserve accountable leadership, a strong voice at Council and a vision for a vibrant community.
Throughout this journey, I have been reminded of the dedication, generosity and community spirit that make Ward 7 the special place it is. I am proud of what we accomplished together and grateful to everyone who believed in our vision and helped make it possible.
Earning the trust of our community is a responsibility I take seriously. I know that trust must be gained through listening, hard work, accountability and a commitment to representing the residents of Ward 7.
As we move forward, I will carry that responsiblity with me. I look forward to working with residents, community organizations, the business community and my colleagues at Council to address our challenges, capitalize on opportunities and build a community that people can feel proud of.
