🦌🔥 HUNT CAMP FIRE SAFETY 🔥🦌
With hunters heading to camp and into the woods this weekend, the Laurentian Hills Fire Department would like to remind everyone that fire safety is just as important at hunt camp as it is at home!
Before settling in, take a few minutes to make sure your camp is safe.
🚨 Ensure you have working smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms.
🔥 Keep wood stoves and heaters in good condition and maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) of clearance from combustibles.
🪵 Dispose of hot ashes in a metal container with a tight-fitting lid and store it outside.
🏕️ Never leave campfires unattended and ensure they are completely extinguished.
🧯 Keep a fire extinguisher readily available and know how to use it.
📱 Know your camp’s location and have a plan in case of an emergency.
A few minutes of preparation can make a big difference in keeping you, your fellow hunters, and your camp safe.
From all of us at the Laurentian Hills Fire Department, we wish everyone a safe, enjoyable, and successful hunting season!
🦌 Hunt Safe. Stay Safe. Enjoy the Outdoors!
