The first of four Free Eco Station Weekends is coming up.

Kennedale, Ambleside and Strathcona Eco Stations will be open from 8 am to 6 pm on May 16 and 17 for residents to drop off household hazardous waste, appliances, electronics and large bulky items at no charge.

Lines can be long. Avoid an unnecessary wait by reviewing the list of items that are always free to drop off at Eco Stations year-round.

Big Bin Events kick off on May 9-10 at Northlands (Wayne Gretzky Drive & 119 Avenue).

This is the first of EIGHT events that will be held over the summer to give residents an opportunity to drop off items too large or bulky for regular waste collection.

For dates and locations of Big Bin Events near you, visit edmonton.ca/BigBinEvents.

If your items can be reused, the best option is to donate.

It’s National Volunteer Week!

Last year more than 7,200 volunteers dedicated over 62,000 hours to support City programs such as Root for Trees, Capital City Clean Up, the Master Composter Recycler program and many more!

From the Reuse Centre, a special thank you to our MCRs who had more than 22,000 conversations to help their neighbours understand and use our waste system effectively!

Young Edmontonians’ creativity is on display at City Hall!

Until April 27, come check out the finished designs from Sustainable Fashion Week and get inspired to reduce your own textile waste impact.

During our four-day workshop, students ages 14-18 designed and created the upcycled fashion looks from reused materials.
