Calling into question the quality of WSIB management in the wake of sweeping layoffs, the Ontario NDP is calling on the province’s auditor general to investigate the WSIB office.

Despite promises from WSIB that there will be no disruptions, the number of unaddressed claims has increased from 400 to nearly 6,000.

We need to get to the bottom of this decision. That’s why we’re calling on the Auditor General to conduct a value-for-money audit of WSIB’s restructuring and determine whether management’s actions support or undermine the workers the WSIB was created to serve.

Had a very special visitor at my office this afternoon!

Lumina and her mom Ashley popped into the office today to tell me a little more about Lumina’s story. She has Rett syndrome, a rare genetic disorder.

October is Rett syndrome awareness month. If you’d like to get involved you can follow Lumina’s story at “Lumina’s Rett Journey” and you can also learn more about the disorder and how you can help on the Ontario Rett Syndrome Association’s webpage.

Workers continue to be left unprotected in Doug Ford's Ontario.

Ford likes to blame tariffs or blame Trump when workers lose their jobs, but the 700+ workers being forced out of their jobs at WSIB is on him.

He hand picked the CEO of the WSIB. His former Minister of Labour gave the directives that led to these layoffs.

Young parents like Kayla are loosing their livelihood, seasoned professionals who have given decades to a career are being laid off and losing their pensions, people are scrambling to make a plan and ensure the mortgage or rent gets paid.

If Ford wants to protect Ontario, he can start with its workers.

Doug Ford promised to end hallway healthcare, but it’s only gotten worse under the eight long years he’s been in power.

It’s time to end the wait times by bringing in safe staffing ratios and fixing the bed shortage, so that every Ontarian gets proper care when they need it.

Tomorrow is the Fall Economic Statement, and when it comes time for the Conservative Government to outline their spending priorities, I am going to be thinking of Cruz.

Cruz, like so many of our kids, is facing another year back in a school system that has been badly underfunded and neglected by the Government.

Classrooms are overcrowded. Schools are in much need of repairs and upgrades. Teachers are trying to do more with less and less. And many children with mental health challenges or additional needs are not getting the supports they deserve.

I hope the Government puts our kids first and FUNDS our public education system.

So pleased to join Colleen (pictured here) for one of the inaugural lift rides and to announce a $30,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation for L'Arche Sudbury Inc. to install a new platform lift.

This lift is about accessibility, but it’s also about independence and the ability for everyone to be able to partake in all the wonderful things our community has to offer.

Congratulations to the whole team, and thank you for all the work you do!

Our students are worth EVERY NICKEL!

This weekend parents, students, educators, and community members gathered access the province to bring attention to the Government’s continuing cuts and attacks on our public education system.

We will continue to be loud and to fight back against the cuts and the privatization, because our kids deserve better!

While the government remains focused on their own corruption and scandals, we will keep raising up the needs of our kids and fight for them to have the best education.
