One of our own needs our support.

Kelowna firefighter and Local 953 brother Stefon Marshall was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, shortly after he and his wife Madi welcomed their baby boy, Max.

Donations will help cover medical expenses not covered by WCB and everyday living costs, allowing Stefon to focus on his health and spend time with Madi and Max.

Today, on Firefighters’ National Memorial Day, Kelowna Firefighters pause to remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

We honour those who answered the call and never came home, and those whose lives were lost because of the lasting effects of the job.

Their courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. We carry their legacy with us every time we answer the call.

Rest easy. We’ll take it from here.

25 years later, the sacrifice of September 11 continues to be felt.

We remember the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice that day, the 453 FDNY members who have since died from 9/11-related illnesses, and the nearly 5,000 who have been diagnosed with 9/11-related cancer.

We honour those lost, those still fighting, and every first responder whose life was forever changed by that day.

Never forget.

Our mission doesn’t end at our city limits.

The Bradley Creek, Quilpituk Creek, and Pear Lake wildfires are affecting families and communities across BC.

Yesterday, 25 members of the Kelowna Fire Department were deployed to support wildfire operations.

Wherever help is needed, we’ll be there.
