Couldn’t resist this little flashback to the final weekend before the election.

Angad, a law student in Toronto, and my son Alex joined us to help out in Ward 7.

While canvassing was hard work, there were so many great moments, important conversations and a lot of laughs too.

My daughter Katie joined us often knocking on doors and honestly what a privilege to be able to share this experience with my whole family. ❤️

Wow, Ward 7!

We did it, together!

Beyond grateful for the support and teamwork. I take all of it to heart moving into this new and exciting role.

This community has meant so much to me and my family for the past 28 years.

I was tempted to say I’m speechless this morning but if you know me, you also know I’m rarely at a loss for words, so it’s probably best that I say a heartfelt thank you ❤️

Ward 7, I intend to use my voice for you and work on behalf of you advocating every step of the way.

To all of the other candidates: thank you for running and believing in a better future for London.

I am honoured to be here today representing Ward 7 and the city of London at large.

What a team!

A wholehearted thank you to everyone I’ve met on this campaign, everyone who has endorsed me, my campaign team and my family.

Throughout this campaign, I’ve talked about leadership, collaboration and advocacy. Strong leadership will be vital in the next four years. For over 20 years, I’ve used my voice to amplify yours. Leadership is action, not words. I stood by my values during this campaign, and I’m proud of that.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather this week, or better volunteers.

To get things done for our city and Ward 7, a councillor must work well with others. As an investigative journalist for decades, I’ve built relationships at City Hall and across London with people who trust me. That experience and those relationships means I will be an effective advocate from Day One.

From day one, the people in Ward 7 have been incredibly supportive and generous with their time. Thank you to everyone who has shared their concerns, their personal stories and their desire to build a better future for the city of London at large. Together we can make it happen.

There’s less than a week to go until we vote October 26th.

Now is the time to ensure that your voter ID card is ready and that you know where your polling station is. It’s listed on the voter ID card. If you don’t have your voter ID card, you can still sign up to vote at the polling station if you bring ID.
