🚨 Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) Deadline Reminder 🚨

The Province of Manitoba's Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) Program remains open for those who experienced damage due to the June 2026 heavy rainfall event.

If you are a resident, business owner, farmer, or non-profit organization within the Village of Dunnottar and sustained flood-related damage, please note that the application deadline is November 9, 2026.

If you have not yet submitted an application, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible.

🚨 Community Safety Reminder 🚨

The Village of Dunnottar encourages residents to report any suspicious activity to the RCMP, even if it may seem minor or insignificant, by contacting the non-emergency line 204-482-3322.

What may appear to be a small concern can help police identify patterns, allocate resources where they are needed most, and increase police presence within our community. These reports contribute to valuable information that helps law enforcement be proactive rather than reactive.

Please remember:
✅ Reporting suspicious activity is not wasting police time.
✅ Even seemingly minor observations can be important.
✅ If you see something unusual, report it to the RCMP.

There are also some simple steps residents can take to help deter crime and vandalism:
• Ensure outdoor areas are well lit.
• Consider using security cameras where appropriate.
• Place refuse, recycling, and yard waste at the curb on the morning of collection rather than the night before.

Working together helps keep our community safe. Thank you for doing your part and for reporting concerns when you see them.

🍂 Yard Waste Collection Update 🍂

Please be advised that, due to the high volume of yard waste placed out for collection this morning, the contractor will be returning to the Village later this week to complete the pickup.

If your yard waste was missed today, please do not be concerned. Crews will be back this week to collect any remaining material.

Please note that Monday, October 26, 2026, will be the final day for yard waste collection this season.

If you still have leaves, grass clippings, or other accepted yard waste to dispose of please ensure that it is placed in paper yard waste bags and set out for collection by Monday morning.

🍂 Landfill Winter Hours Reminder ❄️

Just a reminder that the Village of Dunnottar Landfill is now operating on winter hours.

🚫 The landfill is CLOSED on Fridays and Sundays.

For easy reference, the landfill hours are also printed on the front of your landfill pass.

🍂 Thanksgiving Holiday Notice 🍂

The Village of Dunnottar Administrative Office, Public Works Department, and Landfill will be closed on Monday, October 12, for Thanksgiving Day.

Garbage and Recycling collection will continue as scheduled.

AllStar will not be working Thanksgiving Monday. They will be working extended hours throughout the remainder of the week to ensure all tanks are checked.

Regular hours will resume for all departments on Tuesday, October 13.

School Trustee Election - October 28, 2026

Although there is no municipal election in the Village of Dunnottar, residents in Ward 3 can still vote for their School Trustee on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

The VIllage of Dunnottar Administrative Office is currently on winter hours and closed to the public on Wednesdays.

Please note that on Wednesdays when a regular Council meeting is scheduled, the office will be open for the duration of the meeting to allow residents to attend.
