Heads up! The Pictou County Hike Club hike on the Kutawtimnu Trail in Pictou Landing First Nation has been postponed to Tuesday, November 10 at 6:00 p.m. due to today’s rainy forecast.🌧️

While the rain is expected to clear before this evening, the trail will likely be wet and muddy. With a large group expected, we want to prioritize everyone’s safety while also helping protect the trail and prevent unnecessary damage from heavy foot traffic in wet conditions.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to visiting the trail together next Tuesday! 🥾🌲

If you can no longer make it, or haven't registered yet and would like to, please contact [email protected] or 902-396-1059.

Prevention can't wait.

Our health-care system is under enormous pressure. While acute care demands our attention today, we can't lose sight of the importance of investing in healthier communities for tomorrow.

In the November issue of Doctors Nova Scotia magazine, our executive director, Rachael Borlase, makes the case for prevention and reflects on what she's learned from physicians who support our work.

At the heart of her message is a simple idea: helping people move more, in the places where they live, learn, work and play, is an important part of building a healthier Nova Scotia.

Our Kids Run Club is one example of prevention in action. For 23 years, this free, school-based program has helped children discover the joy of movement. Today, it reaches approximately 160 schools and more than 16,000 children each year.

But keeping programs like Kids Run Club accessible takes continued support.

This November, we're inviting physicians, community partners, and anyone who believes in the importance of prevention to help us keep Kids Run Club free for schools and children across the province.

Read Rachael's article, Prevention Can't Wait, and learn how you can support this work.

Happy Halloween from Make Your Move New Glasgow! 👻🎃

We had a spooktacular time at Trick or Trail, thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy some Halloween fun and a walk through Trenton Park.

Have a fantastic Halloween, and don't forget to add a little bit of movement! 🍬🧡

10/30/2026

We had a blast at Trenton Park last night for Trick or Trail! An estimated 1,900 attendees (including about 555 trick-or-treaters and their grown-ups) walked the 1km loop covering an approximate total of 1,900km. That's about 2,660,000 steps of spooky fun! 👻 🎃 👟

Thank you to the volunteers and staff from each community in Pictou County who worked together to make the night such a treat! 👏 🍬
