Veterans' House Canada is a federally incorporated non-profit organization. Our first home-The Andy Carswell Building, is located in Ottawa:K1K 5A7

Helping homeless veterans build a better future by providing permanent, affordable and supportive housing. Veterans’ House is an affordable housing community with supports for veterans created by Multifaith Housing Initiative on the site of the former Rockcliffe Air Base.

This Remembrance season, Veterans’ House Canada is proud to support the Digital Poppy campaign, an impactful action which gives back to those who have served.

Each year, The Legion National Foundation - La Fondation nationale de la Légion organizes the Digital Poppy fundraising campaign. With the support of Canadians from coast to coast to coast, we honour the act of Remembrance and raise much-needed funds to improve the well-being and quality of life of Canada’s Veterans and their families.

A Veteran at the Andy Carswell Building shared what living there means to him:

“Veterans' House provides something many people take for granted: a safe place to call home... The additional programs provide much-needed social connections, health support, and assistance that go far beyond simply providing a roof over our heads.”

He added: “The thought of returning to life on the streets is something I do not even want to imagine.”

Yesterday's monthly luncheon at Veterans' House Canada's Andy Carswell Building in Ottawa was another success, sponsored by Steve and the Newfound Recruiting team.
The smiles all afternoon said it all❤️

Thank you to Jay Sanko and Natalie for their continued leadership and for organizing these luncheons month after month. The event has quickly become a highlight for our newest residents, and participation grows every month. 🙌

These gatherings help build the sense of community our veterans deserve. Partners like Newfound Recruiting make that possible, and we are grateful to have them and Jay alongside us.

Last week in Ottawa, our Operations Manager for the Andy Carswell Building, Wayne Duggan, welcomed George Dolan, Treasurer of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 616.

We sincerely appreciate George for taking the time to connect with our residents, and we thank every member of Branch 616 for their generosity and continued commitment to veterans. George presented a $1,000 check on behalf of the branch.

Gifts like this help us provide care and services and meet critical community needs. We do not take that support for granted. 🍁

Our deepest condolences to the families, friends and fellow members of those lost at CFB Wainwright in Alberta, and to the broader military community. ❤️

This tragedy is felt across the Canadian Armed Forces, the Veteran community, and the entire country.
We thank every first responder who worked tirelessly during this difficult time.

Our flags are flying at half-mast in solidarity with the service members at CFB Wainwright, their families, and their community. We grieve with you.

Another successful corporate volunteer day at the Andy Carswell Building.
Thank you to Turner & Townsend (Debo, Rittik, and Sheik), Réjean Duchesneau from the Ottawa volunteer chapter, and Johan Hooft, a veteran living at the ACB. Together, we:

• Built three raised garden beds
• Moved six cubic yards of topsoil
• Cemented a new post for the birdhouse collection

There was plenty of teamwork, laughter, and a more welcoming outdoor space for veterans. Thank you for rolling up your sleeves.
