Economic Development staff work with local businesses to help them expand, attract new investment to Richmond Hill, assist in the relocation of new or existing businesses to the area, and provide support to business entrepreneurs. Strategically located in the centre of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Richmond Hill provides the business community with access to the areas east, west, north, and south of the GTA. This allows companies to draw from local and near-local resources for labour, supplies, and customers. More than 4,000 businesses call Richmond Hill home with many Canadian head offices, such as BMW Canada, LEGO Canada, Apotex, Ash City, and others. Four prestige business parks are strategically located along the Highway 404, with easy access to the Pearson International Airport, CN Rail - Classification Yard, and Port Toronto.

The Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade Presents:
Spotlight on Exporting: Introduction to Defence Sector Exporting
November 2 – 9:30 –11:30 a.m.

In the midst of a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape, Canada has committed to increased investment in the Canadian Armed Forces to meet NATO targets and grow national defence capabilities. This investment is creating

long-term opportunities for manufacturers, technology firms, and service providers from across Ontario. It will encourage Ontario companies from many different sector backgrounds to explore international partnerships and may unlock export opportunities in defence and security.

Many Ontario companies already have capabilities that align with global defence needs, even if they have never considered the sector before. Ontario is well positioned to expand defence exports, attract new investment, and strengthen competitiveness in emerging defence and security markets.
