On Reconciliation Day, we had a special learning moment at Wisteria Place. Our retired teacher, Judy, read Be a Good Ancestor with our residents, a beautiful book rooted in Indigenous teachings, written by Leona Prince and Gabrielle Prince and illustrated by Cree artist Carla Joseph.

The book reminds us of our connection to one another, the land, and future generations, and encourages us to think about the impact of our actions and the kind of world we want to leave behind.

Judy is always teaching us something new. Once a teacher, always a teacher!

We all experience brain changes as we age, but some changes go beyond what is considered normal aging.

Today, on World Alzheimer's Day, we invite you to take a moment to learn the difference. with (TAG) Allison Schindler, Optima Living’s Regional Director, Memory Care, Lifestyles, and Programs.

Together, we can promote understanding, build supportive communities for people experiencing dementia and Alzheimer's Disease, and encourage conversations about brain health.

September is here. The air is a little crisper, the leaves are just beginning to turn, and there's a quiet shift that signals the end of summer.

But some things stay the same. A morning coffee in a favourite spot, familiar faces at the dining table, and the comfort of knowing what the day holds.

These small, consistent moments are what make daily life feel grounded.

What's your favourite part of the daily routine?
