Last night, members of the Regiment donated blood in support of the injured soldiers from CFB Wainwright.

All blood types are needed but please consider donating if you’re the universal blood donor of blood type O and AB are universal plasma donators.

Blood donations are necessary in order to restock the blood banks for operations and the long term care required. Plasma and red blood cells are specifically required at different stages of the healing process.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and soldiers involved.

On October 17, 2026, the soldiers of 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group suffered a devastating loss during a training activity at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright. My immediate priority, and that of the entire chain of command, is to ensure that our soldiers, their families, and all those who have been affected by this tragic event receive the care, support, and resources they need. We will stand shoulder-to-shoulder and support one another and honour the memory of our fallen comrades.

Colonel M. J. Reekie, Commander, 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group

Battlefield Tour

The tour saw the World War 1 Battle of Canal du Nord.

The Canadian Corps pushed 2 Divisions through and exploited across the open and how the 5th Battalion cleared along the Canal was a testament to the tenacity of Canadians in battle.

Col (ret) Young shared a battle map that had the firing tables for the Machine Gun Corps for their use in indirect fire.

We finished the visit to the area, laying flags to the 5th Bn casualties we found in Haynecourt Cemetery.

Saskatoon Tribal Councils
Every Child Matters Pow Wow.

Members of the Regiment, 38 CER, 16 Field Ambulance and 38 Signals Regt were proud to participate in the Grand Entry and listen to the powerful songs of the drum groups at the Saskatoon Tribal Council Every Child Matters Pow Wow.

In the spirit of reconciliation and answering the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #80, we join communities across the country to honour the survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never came home, and reaffirm our commitment to a shared path forward.

Every child matters. Today and every day.

Chaque enfant compte. Aujourd'hui et chaque jour.
