A special moment of recognition as Delaine Hird, the President of the Slocan Legion, pins Jessica Lunn, the outgoing Mayor of the Village of Slocan.

The pinning ceremony is a longstanding Legion tradition, symbolizing appreciation, respect and gratitude for an individual's service and contribution to the community. It is a meaningful gesture of recognition and a way of formally acknowledging someone who has given their time and commitment in service to others.

A fitting tribute to Jessica Lunn and an opportunity to recognize her years of service to the Village of Slocan and its residents.

The pre-scheduled Oct. 29th Water Tie-In has now been completed, and water service resumed to properties.

Following water main work, residents in the area are advised to flush their water lines for several minutes to evacuate trapped air and wash out any sedimentation which may have been disturbed.

Ideally, flushing should be done with an outside tap or cold water tub faucet; however, simultaneously running several other cold water faucets is also effective. Residents should consider removing faucet screens prior to flushing. Rust and mineral scale from within the home, which often collects in the water heater, may be dislodged and can clog faucet screens.

Please note that the Ward Ave/Harold St intersection has now been reopened.
The Delany/Harold intersection remains closed.

Harold St -

Today, crews are working at installing a drywell in the Harold St/ Ward Ave intersection. The pedestrian access fence has been temporarily pushed back while this work is being completed.

The map below shows the pedestrian access to Harold Street businesses (red arrows), via the south side of Slocan Village Market.

Access from the north end of Harold Street, outside the Slocan Hotel, remains open.
