Julian Campisi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, is the editor of The Routledge Handbook of Political Risk (co-edited with Cecilia Emma Sottilotta, Johannes Leitner, Hannes Meissner).

The Routledge Handbook of Political Risk talks about the political risk that’s been arising from recent geopolitical challenges that came with pandemics, nationalist policy interventions, changing supply chains, technological transformation, and the climate crisis.

The goal is to give people a foundational piece to refer to. Since political risk is not a traditional subfield found in academics, there is not a lot written about it in political science. This book is meant to be a building block for those interested in political risk in a political science or business and management sense.

Join us at U of T Scarborough on Saturday, January 23, 2027, in celebration of Tamil Heritage Month, for the fifth Digital Tamil Studies Symposium, a gathering that brings together scholars, students, practitioners, and community members to explore the rich intersections of Tamil language, literature, history, culture, and digital scholarship.

This year's symposium will focus on gender and s*x in the archive, considering how these questions are represented, contested, and preserved within heritage materials. Together, we will reflect on ways to build more inclusive and equitable approaches to documenting, interpreting, and preserving the past.

We have the distinct honour of hosting Prof. Mythri Jegathesan as our keynote speaker, alongside a distinguished panel of presenters and student performers.

A story kept alive through generations.

The U of T Scarborough Library Archives and Special Collections holds a remarkable collection sustained by deep family ties. For 35 years, Susili Wilson and her family carefully safeguarded S.J.V. Chelvanayakam’s archives before donating them to the Library in 2017.

Thanks to their dedication, the UTSC Library now provides access to an important piece of Tamil history and legacy for the entire U of T community.
