Meet Mark, one of our wonderful Bernard Betel Centre volunteers!

For the past five years, Mark has been giving his time, energy, and kindness to our community. Each week, he helps with Meals on Wheels packaging and sorting, making sure meals are ready to reach the seniors who depend on them. He also volunteers weekly in our computer lab, patiently answering all kinds of IT questions and helping members feel more confident with technology.

When asked why he volunteers, Mark said it best: “I’m giving back to society for what God has given me.”

Friendly, upbeat, and always ready to help, Mark is truly a man of good deeds. We are so grateful to have him as part of the Bernard Betel Centre family!

A big shoutout to Sheda (aka the Maestro) and Vladimir (aka the Muscles) from Facilities & Building Operations, the behind-the-scenes SUPER heroes of the Bernard Betel Centre.

From setting up rooms for events and shows, to keeping our spaces clean, organized, and running smoothly, they somehow seem to be everywhere at once. Most people may not always see the work they do, but we definitely feel it every day.

They are the quiet force behind so many successful programs, events, and “how did this room magically get ready?” moments. Thank you, to both, for always going the extra mile and helping keep the Centre running at its best. You are the best!

Meet Marlene, one of our wonderful Bernard Betel Centre members!

For the past five years, Marlene has been coming to the Centre almost every day and she says it truly feels like her second home. From our delicious and varied meals that never disappoint, to our shows, concerts, Monday News, Views & Schmooze, and Thursday afternoon Music Appreciation programs, Marlene loves being part of the Bernard Betel community.

But what she enjoys most are the friendships she has made along the way. For Marlene, the Centre is a place to meet new people, socialize, enjoy great food, and feel connected.

We’re so happy to have Marlene as part of our Bernard Betel family!
