Attached is a picture of my husbands stuffed monkey from when he was a child. We just found out that we are expecting our first grandchild and I thought, if it's possible, we could gift my husband's monkey to the baby. I realize you will not be able to repair the rubber face and hands but was wondering if it can be cleaned, restuffed, and fur fixed.

Hi Candace, I can give Mr. Monkey a spa treatment & more stuffing, clean his face & hands . I can replace the fur on his arms - I’ll try to get a good match. I think the fur on his body, head back & legs are fine.

Yes I want you to line him with the towels I provided. Please keep the button eyes and belly button in the same spot (you can remove them but make sure there in the same spots and the same belly button and eye buttons). The yellow belly patch does not have to remain it is up to you! You can leave the yellow stitching repairs as possible that would be great! I just would like his whole body lined with the new. I also would like for you to switch his stuffing, since he has old orange sponge that is not going to last.
I want my yellow Teddy look new like the picture I gave you when I was small. Back to his original. That’s why I provided you with all the towels

Hi Ruth! He looked very similar to now in the pictures. He never had a mouth or nose just those buttons I placed. He came as a blank face bear exactly how he is molded now. He just had a little more skin of a towel texture that has worn down now. Under the yellow patch is more of the same yellow material just it is very thin under there so we covered it up with a cloth stitched on.

Good evening Ruth I have attached photos showing my old panda, which you repaired a few years ago. There is some wear to the ears and the back.

I found some new panda stuffies that are a bit smaller but have a similar look. I was wondering if these new stuffies could be taken apart and the material used to patch up the original panda.

Please let me know your thoughts on approach.

Dear Teddy Bear Hospital,

My childhood teddy bear—Boondie— is showing his age and losing some of his substance and personality, and I’m hoping he could be repaired, replumped, and restored. He seems to have been sewed together with something like fishing line, and it’s showing more than it once did—I’d prefer proper thread if possible. His eyes are scarred and he’s missing his nose and mouth. Would it be possible to get him in the queue for attention? I’d be grateful to see him in better shape than he was even when I was a child. I'd just love for him to look loved and taken care of again.

Hi Daniel, Your teddy is ready to go home. He had his spa treatment. Then taken completely apart to remove the fishing line stitching - that was quite a job. He had nylon stockings as part of his stuffing - I guess your mom did that. Then he was restitched & restuffed.

Hi Dr. Ruth, I was recommended to you by my friend, who also sent his furry friends from Ottawa in for treatment alongside my Snoopy!

I was hoping to get a quote for a spa treatment and possibly some minor repairs/fur grafts for my four furry friends.

Here’s what I’m looking for:
Spa treatment: for all four PLUS
Fur graft: for Snoopy and Wishwing
Nose replacement: for Wishwing
Any recommendations you may have for Moose and Dog

Hi Betty, A cute group of stuffies. Moose needs his antlers stuffed & maybe a bit of stuffing. Dog needs more stuffing so he can hold his head up.

Treatments are approximate without seeing them. I’ll let you know if I see any other problems.

I found out about your stuffy hospital through Google maps and I’m reaching out to ask about the possibility of freshening up one of my stuffies. It’s very special to me, and I’d love to see if you might be able to restore it a little.

I’ve attached some photos showing how it looked before and how it looks now. My main requests would be:
- Washing/cleaning it (a spa!)
- Re-stuffing or fluffing it a bit (it used to be very nicely stuffed—still very soft but just fuller. Now it’s a bit flat)
- Repairing or fixing the nose

Please let me know if this is something you might be able to help with, and if so, what the process and approximate cost might be.

I'd like to learn whether my childhood cuddly toy Charlie can be given a second life. He's 30 years old & very well loved! He would need at least two fur grafts & a very good groom & stuff, but he has all his limbs and there are no tears or weak areas of stitching. For the fur on his chest, the grey stripes are likely difficult to match, I wouldn't mind if the solution was to give him a white 'bib' in order to repair that area.

Hi Andrew, He looks like he could use a spa treatment as well as some new ear linings. Is there anything else that needs to be done. His right hand is worn through on the palm and the finger hole inside his head needs some attention.?
I can fix that hole on his paw & the hole in his head. I can do all that including areas considered in the last email

Let me know what you think you can do for him beyond what we have talked about.

So far he looks good - a little thin on the fur but nothing to worry about. Andrew, Your bunny has had his spa treatment, ears relined, hole in his head smoothed & his arm replaced. His arm was in such poor condition, I could not repair it.

I’m hoping to get my son’s teddy bear repaired. I have tried to darn the paws and sew some things myself but I think it needs more expertise than I have. Please let me know if you have some time to work on his much beloved teddy. I live in South Vancouver and am able to drop it off with you whenever it is convenient.
