The Indigenous Tools for Living (ITFL) program offers a trauma-informed approach rooted in Indigenous knowledge, mindfulness, and self-regulation techniques.
Who is this for?
ITFL is open to everyone including, service providers, and community members seeking practical strategies for healing, resilience, and well-being.
What to Expect:
Teachings grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing
Mindfulness-based practices for self-care & community care
Tools to navigate stress and trauma in a good way
A safe, supportive space for learning and connection

Join us tomorrow afternoon at Grandview Park for a vigil to honour and remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit+ people.

Wear red and bring your drums if you have them as we gather in remembrance, solidarity, and community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the Honour Walk and the Truth and Reconciliation Day event at Grandview Park. It was a beautiful day with such a great turnout. 🧡

📍 Starting Point: VACPC – 1719 Franklin Street
🕚 Time: Walk begins at 11:30 AM
🥤 Snacks & Refreshments: Available before the walk
Additional Supports & Information:
🚗 Transportation available for Elders and community members with accessibility needs
🚧 Commercial Drive will be closed in both directions during the walk
👮‍♂️ VPD road safety officers will be on-site for the walk
All are welcome, come walk with us in unity!

On behalf of the Vancouver Aboriginal Community Policing Centre (VACPC), Jacqueline and Aman would like to sincerely thank UCCM Anishnaabe Police Services for inviting them to Toronto to speak about the work being done through VACPC & VPD at the “Lighting the Fire Within Gathering 2026.”

It was a privilege for them to learn from others doing this important work, and to be part of a larger conversation about how Indigenous communities and police services can continue to build stronger relationships together.

Jacqueline and Aman are grateful for the opportunity to share their experiences, learn from others, and connect with people who are working toward meaningful change in their own communities.

Thank you to UCCM Anishnaabe Police Services for creating space for this important conversation and for the warm welcome.

The Indigenous Neighbourhood Small Grants (I-NSG) is a program for Indigenous individuals living in Metro Vancouver.
We encourage project initiatives that advocate for Indigenous communities, such as promoting Indigenous rights, education, healthcare, etc. Once you have applied for a grant and your project has been approved, you do not need to pay the money back.
