Happy Thanksgiving / Joyeuse Action de grâce

This Thanksgiving, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible volunteers who give their time, kindness, and dedication to our Hospital Gift Shop Auxiliary, and for the generous community that continues to support us. Your generosity, compassion, and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, families, and healthcare teams. Together, we are helping make our hospital a place of care, comfort, and hope. From all of us at the Hospital Gift Shop Auxiliary, thank you for being such an important part of our journey. Wishing our volunteers, supporters, and the entire community a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and many reasons to be thankful.

What a fun photo of our volunteer Susana Nagy! Please read more about Susana below....

There's nothing more joyous in my life at least, than giving back. I love my four volunteer jobs, but the Welland Hospital Gift Shop has a special place in my heart.

Not only it is one of "the most expensive volunteer jobs" (as we always find a great deal that we cannot pass up), but it’s also one of the most fun, creative, social, and satisfying jobs I have. I love working with every one of the volunteers and no one can ever say that we don't have fun on the job while our sales' proceeds go back to fund so many initiatives at our hospital.

The medical and nursing staff as well as the respiratory therapists saved my life a year ago and I hope that all my volunteering and "shopping sprees" help our hospital thrive and stay in our community. I only hope we'll have more volunteers coming out and joining us.

It's time to introduce you to our wonderful volunteer, Lynn Layne.

"I am so happy to be part of the wonderful, caring team at the Welland Gift Shop. I volunteer to give back in some small way to our community. Our hospital needs all the help we can give to get new equipment and to support patients and visitors in trying times.

I've been volunteering for the last few years and we would love it if you would like to be a part of our auxiliary."
