We're Not Buying It is a new campaign demanding an immediate price cap on essential food items.

The government is allowing supermarkets to profit off a food crisis, and with one of the biggest surges in food prices just on the horizon, things are about to get a whole lot worse.

Join us in the first step in pressuring our government by not buying from supermarkets on budget day, October 28th.

Jackdaw will not bring down bills or protect jobs. This is an irresponsible decision from a government that seems to care more about the profits of fossil fuel companies than the money in your pocket or the safety of our planet.

There is no future in fossil fuels. Pretending otherwise fails workers, billpayers, and the next generation who deserve to inherit a planet safe from climate catastrophe.

It is now more important than ever that politicians, campaigners, scientists, and lawyers continue to work together to stop any more climate vandalism at the hands of this government. We must implore them to say no to Rosebank and to halt any plans to allow new oil and gas extraction through tie-backs to existing production facilities.

What the Government should be doing is making large-scale investments in cheap and reliable renewables to safeguard our energy security. They must also offer a package of support to future-proof jobs in the energy sector so that workers in oil and gas can transition to good-quality green jobs, alongside a nationwide home insulation programme and making polluters pay.

Have you a spare a coat/s to offer? (children and/or adults) Rotary can then distribute to organisations, women’s refuges, orphanages, etc., to people who may be less fortunate than ourselves.

For the past few weeks, this is what our days have looked like. We’ve been busy water testing around Tinker Brook in Oswaldtwistle, following reports of sewage being released in areas where kids and pets regularly play.

Ribble Rivers Trust were kind enough to lend us some water testing equipment which allows us to test for ammonia, phosphates, and E.Coli in our local water.

Today we met up with local people in the community to continue testing around Tinker Brook, which also turned into an impromptu litter picking session!

It was our most efficient session yet, allowing us to hit four different sites along Tinker Brook, with each testing session allowing us to understand more about the effects of privately owned water.

Keep an eye on our page for further updates, as well as the story so far! 💚
