Albrighton & Cosford Community First Responders Albrighton Community Responders are volunteers who respond on behalf of the West Midlands Ambulance

Albrighton & Cosford Community Responders are volunteers who respond on behalf of the West Midlands Ambulance Service to attend life threatening emergencies. Following a rigorous training programme CFRs are equipped by the ambulance service and give up their time when they are available. The running costs of their scheme have to be self funded by the scheme.

There's a yellow weather warning for some heavy rain and stormy weather across the West Midlands so here's a few simple precautions can help keep you and others safe.

🚗 Slow down, leave extra space and allow more time for your journey.

🏡 Secure loose garden items and watch out for fallen branches and debris.

Did you know there are 4 Defibrillators in the village that we look after and carry out monthly check in conjunction with the Parish Council
They are located at Saxon Park,
The Red House, the telephone box near the Harp and at the play park on Millfields.

The defibrillators are in locked cabinets and you need to ring 999 to obtain the code.

We as Community First Responders are offering free CPR and defibrillator training to groups and societies in Albrighton. If you would like to book a session with us please private message us

Derek on duty yesterday, quite a busy day, had my flu jab to protect myself and our patients, restocked the car at the hub and attended 4 jobs. Today I have checked that all the defibs are working correctly and everything is in date. Just waiting to be activated by Official WMAS.

Back to responding for Officialwmas today after spending the day at the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity on Sunday and working the day job yesterday. Come over and say hello if you see me out and about.

☀️ The sunshine is sticking around... and so is the heat! 🥵

Whether you're out enjoying the weather or on shift, don't forget to look after yourself in the heat.

💧 Drink plenty of water
🧴 Wear sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses
👕 Choose light, loose-fitting clothing
💦 Cool your skin with water when you can
🏃 Take it easy and avoid strenuous activity
🌳 Stay in the shade, especially between 11am and 3pm

A few simple steps can help you stay safe and enjoy the sunshine. Stay cool, stay hydrated and take care of yourselves! ☀️💚

On Monday we checked all the Defibrillators and found one had a low battery. The Parish council office was notified and 1 day later new battery arrived and was fitted. Defibrillator now back on line. Then we delivered Basic life support to 18 ladies from a WI group.
Thursday saw Derek on duty and he attended 2 jobs. He is currently on again this morning. Keep safe everyone and hydrated.

If any local groups would like us to attend and deliver Basic life support please get in touch, all we ask is a donation towards our running costs.
