(1040)

The breath-taking red-brick mansion and ancient yew hedges sit at the heart of a magnificent garden and historic park in the beautiful Bure meadows. The story of the estate unfolds over a thousand years. The landscape with its hedges and narrow tree-lined lanes has changed little over the centuries and is quintessentially Norfolk. Blickling’s owners have used the estate as a place of quiet refuge, while playing their part on the world’s political stage. Philip Kerr, 11th Marquis of Lothian, left this estate to the National Trust in 1940, and he’s vital to its story. Without him, it’s unlikely that Blickling would still be around for you to explore, along with many other places that you love.

Dogs Welcome Trial Update: 🐾

We've decided to extend our Dogs Welcome trial until Sunday 22 November.

During the trial, dogs on short, fixed leads can continue to visit parts of the garden, the East Wing downstairs, the shop, and the back room of the Stables Café.

By extending the trial through the half-term holiday and into the colder, wetter weeks, we'll have the opportunity to gather feedback from a wider range of visitors and families before making a long-term decision.

Thank you to everyone who has shared their thoughts so far, whether through our on-site comment cards or by email. Your feedback is helping to shape our future approach.

If you haven't had a chance to tell us what you think, we'd love to hear from you. Please email us at: [email protected]

Thank you for helping us make Blickling Estate welcoming for everyone. 🐕🍂
