Wirral Methodist Housing Association was founded in 1964 by a group of local Methodists who were moved to address the housing problems in their home community of Wirral. The organisation grew organically and slowly throughout the next 15 years until increasing funding of social housing by Government enabled it to expand to its current size of over 850 properties in management. We are a charity which does not distribute the profits we make to shareholders, but instead we re-invest them in the work we do to help people in need. We believe in treating everyone who we come into contact with as a valued individual with whom we seek to develop a mutually beneficial relationship.

🏡💚 Celebrating Supported Housing Week

It’s been a wonderful week celebrating the first ever National Housing Federation Supported Housing Week!

Throughout the week, WMHA staff have visited several of our supported housing schemes, enjoying plenty of tea and cake while spending time with tenants, their families and care staff. ☕🍰

We were delighted to round off the week by welcoming Alison McGovern MP to our Claughton Road supported housing scheme.

Claughton Road provides a safe and supportive home for people with learning disabilities, complex needs and neurodiverse conditions. Working in partnership with Options for Supported Living, residents receive tailored support to help them live fulfilling, independent lives and remain an active part of their community.

A huge thank you to everyone who has welcomed us throughout the week and helped us celebrate the incredibly important role supported housing plays in people’s lives. 💚🏡

It was great to get out and about in Woodchurch recently and spend time meeting some of our tenants. We always value the opportunity to hear directly from residents, listen to feedback, and chat about the local community.

🏠✨ Inspiring Future Careers at Raise Up ✨🏠

Wirral Methodist Housing Association recently attended the Raise Up Summit in Liverpool to promote housing as a rewarding and diverse career choice for young people exploring their future opportunities.

Raise Up is an engaging event that brings together hundreds of employers and young people, helping to inspire future career aspirations and support social mobility. Through interactive discussions, practical insights and inspiring speakers, the summit encourages young people to discover new pathways into employment.

Our team enjoyed meeting attendees and sharing information about the wide range of careers available within the housing sector. From housing management and customer services to finance, maintenance and development, housing offers opportunities to make a real difference in local communities every day.

We were delighted to showcase the sector and inspire the next generation to consider a career in housing. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us!

🌟 Celebrating Our 62nd Annual General Meeting 🌟

We recently celebrated our 62nd Annual General Meeting, which is much more than a time for financial and legal formalities. It is a valuable opportunity to connect with our tenants, hear their views, and better understand the priorities that matter most to them.

🌷 Congratulations to all of our Garden Competition winners and to everyone who took part! Your hard work, creativity, and pride in your gardens helped make this year's competition a great success.

👏 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the AGM and contributed to making the day so enjoyable and successful. We appreciate your continued support and engagement and look forward to working together in the year ahead.

🏡 Today we were out and about helping residents with a skip clear-out, and the response has been fantastic! ♻️
It's been great to see the positive difference this has made, and we'd like to share a few comments from tenants who appreciated the service:
💬"I'm clearing it for my boyfriend's mum, but it's made such a difference, it feels like we have a much bigger garden."
💬"My wife and I are disabled and struggle to get things to the tip, but this is a godsend. Thank you."
💬"This is great. These items have been in the garden and I've not been able to get rid of them for a few years. I really appreciate this, thank you."
A huge thank you to everyone who took part today. It's wonderful to hear how much of a difference these community initiatives can make. 💚
