Everyone deserves to breathe clean air, but air pollution does not affect all communities equally.

Inclusive North has joined 's open letter to the Prime Minister, calling for a national inquiry into the disproportionate impact of air pollution on low-income families and minority communities.

Research highlights how children, people of colour and families in disadvantaged areas are among those experiencing the worst effects.

We believe these inequalities deserve attention and action. Read the full letter via ’s bio and share it to help raise awareness.

We recently launched our Race Equality Strategy 2026–2029 at the first Lancashire Against Hate Assembly, outlining our commitment to tackling racial inequalities across Lancashire.

Despite the valuable contributions of Black and Racially Minoritised (BRM) communities, barriers remain across healthcare, education, employment, housing and public services.

Over the next three years, we'll be working alongside communities, local authorities, charities and other partners to strengthen BRM-led organisations, improve public services and ensure community voices are heard in decisions that affect them.

Our aim is to build stronger partnerships, create fairer opportunities and make meaningful progress towards racial equality across Lancashire. We encourage community organisations, residents and partners to explore the strategy and join us in working towards lasting change.

On 8th October, Inclusive North attended the Health Equity Network's Fourth Annual National Conference in Newcastle, alongside more than 280 delegates. The event brought together organisations and individuals committed to addressing health inequalities through shared learning, discussions and collaboration.

We explored how community-led approaches can improve health and wellbeing, particularly for marginalised young people, and how stronger partnerships can help create better outcomes. A key takeaway was the importance of listening to people's lived experiences and involving communities in the decisions that affect their lives.

These conversations closely reflect the work we continue to do across Lancashire, ensuring community voices are heard and helping to build a more equitable future.

We are working with Farah, supporting Dads and Strengthening Families.

They have developed a funding application to co-create a culturally adapted "Learning Through Play" programme to support parenting among British South Asian fathers in the North West.

These are some community sessions that are being hosted to help shape something meaningful. Make sure to register to join if this is relevant for you. You only need to attend *one* of these two sessions, whichever works best for you.

Here at Inclusive North, we’re celebrating Black History Month and believe it’s important to understand its origins and how it has evolved. This helps guide us in our ongoing commitment for advancing racial equality and equity in the North West.

We’ve listened to communities across Lancashire. We’ve shared what we heard. Now, the next step is action.

Our Lancashire Against Hate work identified clear priorities for creating a safer, stronger and more inclusive Lancashire, and Inclusive North is committed to helping turn those priorities into practical change.

Moving forward, we’ll be working with communities and partners to:

• Build a stronger Lancashire Against Hate partnership and improve relationships across communities, grassroots organisations and public services.
• Make sure grassroots voices and lived experience help shape the priorities and solutions.
• Improve coordination and communication when hate incidents or community tensions emerge.
• Challenge misinformation and harmful narratives that can deepen division.
• Strengthen community intelligence so emerging issues can be identified and understood earlier.
• Turn learning into practical responses that tackle both hate and some of the conditions that allow it to grow.

There is no single solution to hate. Creating lasting change requires communities, organisations and public services to work together.

The event helped start the conversation. The findings have helped give us direction.

Now, together, we need to turn that direction into action.

Black History Month is here!
October 2026 is the celebration of Black History month.

This Black History Month, we at Inclusive North recognize the achievements, resilience, and hardships of Black communities - and we’re reflecting on how that history informs our work toward a fairer, more inclusive society.
