Brotton Village Hall, Laburnum Road, Brotton, TS122SE The hall is available to hire seven days a week for your event, whether it be a meeting, group activity or party.The hall has a newly installed fully fitted kitchen with all appliances - Oven, Hob, Fridge, Freezer, Microwave, Water Boiler, Crockery and Cutlery.The main hall has a main stage area, tables and chairs catering for ninety people as well as our own children's bouncy castle available to hire for parties.Hire Rates 2022 General Room Hire Rate - £10.00 per hour. Parties - £30.00 for 2 hours ,Additional Hours - £10.00 per hour.Bouncy Castle Hire - £20.00 for 2 hours,Additional Hours - £10.00 per hour(Unfortunately we don't allow own bouncy castle's to be used)

Alex will be selling from around 5.30 until 6.30 so don’t miss him. Let’s help him hit his target and get to Ecuador ###

Delighted to announce that Alex's Bakes will be attending Cash Bingo on Monday 26th October, Monday 9th November and Monday 14th December to sell his delicious bakes. Make sure you bring your cash you will not be disappointed! Alex is 13 years old and selling his products to raise money for him to go to Ecuador with his school in 2028. We are supporting this amazing young man who has a vision and is working extremely hard to make it a reality. Please let’s all get behind him ###

🏛️ GOOD NEWS FOR BROTTON VILLAGE HALL — BUT EVERY VILLAGE HALL SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS!

Village halls are at the heart of our communities, but right now many are struggling financially just to keep their doors open.

Brotton Village Hall had been paying business rates for years, until we became aware that relief could be claimed.

Following advice and support from Barry Hunt Martin Fletcher Graham Cutler Brotton Ward Councillors, the hall submitted a claim and has now been awarded a refund of nearly £4,000.

This is fantastic news for Brotton Village Hall, but it raises a much bigger question:

How many other village halls are paying business rates when they could be entitled to relief?

Every village hall should be made fully aware of the relief available to them. These buildings provide vital facilities, activities and support for local people, often run by volunteers and on extremely tight budgets.

No village hall should be suffering an unnecessary financial burden simply because nobody told them they could claim relief.

We believe that where a village hall qualifies, this support should be automatic or mandatory rather than relying on volunteers knowing that they need to apply.

We would strongly encourage every village hall and community building to check its business rates and find out what relief it may be entitled to.

A refund of nearly £4,000 will make a real difference to Brotton Village Hall — money that can now be spent where it belongs: supporting the hall and our community.
