A community run, 139 year old heated open air pool & play park in Dartmoor National Park, Devon. It was due to close in 2015 following years of neglect.

We open for our heated summer season from May-September and our cold water season from September to February. Buckfastleigh Open Air Pool is part of the Victoria Park Buckfastleigh charity which was founded in 1887. A group of local volunteers campaigned to save it and took over control as trustees in April 2015. We raised £75,000 to fix and improve the pool and a further £220,000 to build a new skate park and adventure play area. The charity is now entirely manged by volunteers and employs a team of local lifeguards to keep everyone safe. We rely on grants and fundraising to keep us going!

Join us for an evening of Halloween fun, frights and a few surprises as our changing rooms are transformed into the Changing Rooms of Doom! 💀

🌊 COLD WATER SWIM TEMPERATURE UPDATE 💙

The water temperature this week is 11.8°C! ❄️

As we head further into autumn, the water is continuing to cool, making it a great time to keep building your cold water swimming routine and acclimatising gradually. Remember to listen to your body, take it at your own pace and warm up properly after your swim! 🥶🧦☕

Please note - we will have limited changing rooms available this week due to our Halloween event on Saturday evening. Thank you for your understanding.

You can now book your cold water swims online, and purchase your 6-for-5 swim passes directly through our website.

🥶What a fabulous Sunday cold water swim! 💦

We had a brilliant morning at the pool yesterday, with 33 cold water enthusiasts joining us for a refreshing dip! 🏊‍♀️💙

The water temperature was a chilly 11.8°C – perfect for our amazing community of cold water swimmers who braved the conditions and enjoyed a fantastic session together! ❄️👏

A huge thank you to everyone who came along. It’s always wonderful to see so many of you enjoying the pool, supporting each other and embracing the cold! 💙
