Have you talked about your funeral wishes?
Only 41% of UK adults say they've discussed their funeral wishes with their family.
A personal funeral doesn't need to be elaborate. Music, faith, a familiar place or one small detail can carry great meaning.
We can explain what's possible, talk openly about costs and help you record what matters to you.
That's why we're supporting SAIF's campaign, helping families understand their choices before they need to make them.

Doing Freddie justice Freddie was seven when his parents, Gemma and Dave, had to plan his funeral. They wanted the day to reflect their son and honour his memory. Their independent funeral director listened and helped them create a deeply personal farewell that felt true to Freddie. Their story shows the difference the right support can make at an unimaginably difficult time.

A meaningful funeral can start with a blank canvas.

New research shows that nearly three quarters of UK adults believe a funeral should reflect the person who has died.

Freddie's family created a celebration shaped around the seven-year-old boy they loved. Their experiences show families what they can ask for and what becomes possible with an independent funeral director who listens.

We’re supporting SAIF’s campaign to help more people understand their funeral choices.

From Burwash 19 to today…01435 882219 📞

In 1926, when Charlie Waterhouse started the business, technology looked very different from the communications and offices we know today.

Among his most treasured possessions was his very first compliments card – a simple but very proud symbol of his new business.

One detail on the card is particularly special: the telephone number was simply “Burwash 19”! ☎️

It’s amazing to think how much has changed since those early days – from a single local telephone number and a printed card to the technology, communications and facilities we have available today.

Yet one thing has remained exactly the same for 100 years: our commitment to looking after local families with care, respect and personal service for the next 100 years.

100 years – Century of Service.
