More great results from the Cotswolds Neighbourhood Policing team, working in partnership with local businesses and the Ciren Safe scheme.

Proving that some people just don't learn, Cotswolds NPT have been busy out and about arresting and charging some of our regular offenders over the last two days following reports of further shoplifting offences around Cirencester.

Between them the two offenders have stolen £500 worth of alcohol, clothing and children's toys from various stores. As a result they have been charged with six offences between them - one will be in Court tomorrow morning following him being remanded whilst the other is due at Cheltenham Magistrates Court in mid November

These charges have been possible due to the close working between ourselves and local shops who are part of the Cirencester Safe scheme. We will keep dealing with those who feel this behaviour is acceptable and who continually prey on businesses around the town until they get the message that this is not tolerated in Cirencester

What a fantastic morning bringing life and light back to the River Churn and creating dead hedges in the Abbey Grounds! We were so busy that we completely forgot to take a group photo 📸

A huge thank you to Cirencester Wildlife Group, our brilliant volunteers, grounds team, Cotswold Rivers Trust and SARA Cotswolds for rolling up their sleeves and lending a hand 💚

Research released by The Wildlife Trusts this week found that every £1 invested in restoring rivers could generate more than £7 in benefits for nature, communities and the economy. We’d call that a morning very well spent! 🌿

Another sweet result from the Cotswolds Neighbourhood Policing team!

If you’re a business interested in joining the Ciren Safe scheme please email us at [email protected] for more info or visit https://gloucestershiresafe.co.uk/

A sweet-toothed suspected shoplifter has a ‘Rocky Road’ ahead of him after being arrested in Cirencester today (14 October).

Officers from Cotswold Neighbourhood Policing Team responded to reports that a man, who was wanted on suspicion of shoplifting, had stolen chocolate worth £150 and cheese worth £160 from a shop in the town.

The ‘fudge-itive’ was located and arrested and has now been charged with two further counts of theft. He remains in custody and is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court tomorrow (15 October).

All puns aside, we take all reports of shoplifting seriously and we will do all that we can to ensure that offenders face the consequences of their actions.

We would urge all shop owners and businesses to continue to report shoplifting to us.
