The Oasis Care UK Group was founded upon the ethos that we would dedicate ourselves to providing services that affected the lives of the people we work with in a positive way. A closer look at Burdett House

Shared accommodation isn't the right setting for every young person.

Burdett House is our Ofsted-registered solo supported accommodation service in Derby, with three self-contained apartments for young people aged 16–18.

Each young person has their own space and their own front door, with staff support around them.

Day to day, that can mean cooking, shopping, managing their home, getting out into the community and dealing with the usual things that come with having a place of your own.
For some young people, having that space can simply make for a better fit.

What does Ofsted-registered supported accommodation actually mean?

For families, young people and even professionals who don’t work with supported accommodation every day, the terminology isn’t always particularly clear.

Ofsted registration means more than a provider simply being listed with a regulator. It brings supported accommodation for 16 and 17-year-olds within a regulated framework, with expectations around safeguarding, leadership, young people’s experiences and the quality of support they receive.

Getting the household jobs done 🌱

Not every day is an activity day. Sometimes there’s grass to cut, washing to sort out and the usual jobs around the house to get on with.

Just part of everyday life at Oasis.

Nobody has adulthood completely figured out at 18.

Learning to cook, manage money, get yourself to appointments, make decisions and work out what you want to do next takes time.

Most young people have family around them while they figure those things out.
For young people living in supported accommodation, that need for time, encouragement and someone to turn to doesn't disappear.

At Oasis, we want young people to have the chance to learn at their own pace — trying things for themselves, getting things wrong sometimes and knowing support is still there when they need it.
