Under cloudy skies, the parish-troops went out with trowels in one hand and a bag of bulbs in the other to plant more spring-bulbs around the village.
Thanks, firstly, to Steve & Kirsty for acquiring the 600+ daffodil, tulip and crocus bulbs; secondly thanks to the platoon of helpers who came out to help plant them. You all did a fantastic job.
We will have to wait till spring to see them come up.
This event was funded by the Yeaveley Pop Up Cafe for the bulbs, beverages and biscuits.
The 40 HiViz Vests have been sponsored by Pear Tree Inn (Village Hospitality Ltd) for this event but also for any future village events.
“Well Done Everyone” who took part, your support is appreciated.

All villagers invited to help plant 600 flower bulbs around the village to make our village bloom in spring.
Meet in the pub Carpark at 10am. Hot drinks and biscuits available complimentary and we have a HiViz waistcoat for everyone to wear.
Bring a trowel and gloves!

On Friday 16th October Pear Tree Inn (Yeaveley) are offering Takeaway Fish ‘n’ Chips with Mushy Peas for £16.95
Available 6.00pm to 7.30pm and orders must be placed and paid for in full by mid-day on Thursday.
Please call us on 01335 330700 to place your orders.
It will work similar to how we did things during COVId lockdown…. Call us, place your order and the time you want to collect it, then make payment by credit/debit card. All then left to do is - collect it.
During covid lockdown, we used to serve in excess of 100 portions (admittedly over a longer period of time) but it’s obviously something people in the village like… so we are trying it out.
If it proves successful, we will look into offering it more frequently.
