BKA Coy (5 SCOTS) battled through dense woodland and tough terrain to smash their Training Level Bravo.

The Jocks worked through tactical drills, blank-firing exercises and casualty scenarios, putting their training into practice in realistic conditions.

Exercises like this are essential to maintaining operational readiness and preparing for future deployments.

In its 20th anniversary year, The Royal Regiment of Scotland hosted a 21-Gun Salute at Edinburgh Castle, home of our Regimental Headquarters.

The salute marked the arrival of the Lord High Commissioner at the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

The reviewing officer, and special guest of the regiment, was GB&NI professional athlete who took the salute.

Our guests had the opportunity to meet soldiers from 5 SCOTS and receive a tour of the Museum of The Royal Regiment of Scotland, gaining insight into the Regiment’s role in today’s society and its proud history.

Did you know?
The 21-Gun Salute originated as a naval tradition in the 16th century, signalling peaceful intentions by firing to empty their cannons, a custom that has evolved into a mark of respect for royal and state occasions.

20 years of SCOTS, and one unmistakable sound🎵

The music of the Pipes and Drums has long been inseparable from our identity, providing the soundtrack to ceremonial occasions, parades and operations across Scotland and beyond.

Now, as part of our anniversary celebrations, we’re launching the first ever official Royal Regiment of Scotland Pipe Music book reflecting over 300 years of rich Scottish military heritage.
