Join us on Remembrance Sunday when the national two-minute silence will be observed at 11am.

There will also be performances of a specially commissioned First World War themed play - 'Our Little Fort' by Time Will Tell Theatre, at 11.30am, 1pm and 2:30pm on 8 November.

The play tells the story of two soldiers serving at the Fort, George Weston and John Stanisforth, through their letters and diaries, offering a moving glimpse into life at Fort Nelson during wartime.

We are delighted to announce the Pride of Portsmouth is being displayed at Fort Nelson.

The Pride was created to celebrate 100 years of Portsmouth's city status and formed a trail across the city during the summer.

The majority of the lions have now come together at the Fort, with a few lions remaining on duty in Portsmouth, and will be here until the end of the year.

Fort Nelson is free to enter but capacity is limited so we ask visitors to pre-book tickets at https://bit.ly/4eLaK1g to guarantee entry. Please note the site will be busy for half term with our Halloween Half Term event, but the lions will be on site for weeks to come.

Fort Nelson was built more than 150 years ago to defend Portsmouth.
Today, the lions stand proudly together within its walls, celebrating the creativity, strength and spirit of the city.

- Standing with Giants opened at Fort Nelson a year ago today.

For Your Tomorrow - The People's Tribute is a tribute to 1,475 servicemen under British Command who gave their lives on D-Day.

We were honoured to be joined by D-Day Veterans, Henry Rice, Alec Penstone and Bert Courtney, on the opening day and D-Day Veteran Ken Hay MBE also visited during its stay at the Fort.

Sadly, we have lost Henry Rice, Alec Penstone and Ken Hay in the last year - our thoughts are with their friends and families as we remember this special day, a year on.

In total, more than 70,000 people flocked to Fort Nelson to see the installation and pay tribute to those who gave their lives on D-Day.

The installation was on display in Normandy, France, during the summer season and is now open at Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire.
