So here at Dunge Valley Gardens all the Autumn work has started in earnest!
Lots of clearing, planting and moving to do.
We always encourage volunteers who want to learn gardening in the outdoors here in the Peak District. PM me if you’d like to help us out. SK23 7RF.
We’ve propagated some special plants such as Embothrium coccineum, Daphne bholua, species Rhododendrons, etc. All well rooted and ready for planting out.
Autumn is the best time to plant when you don’t have to worry about watering.

O…M…G… and I don’t usually do expletives!
I went round the woodland at Dunge Valley yesterday evening and was amazed by the colourful display. It’s never looked as good!
To the couple who came and when asked to pay £8.00 to see the gardens, chose to buy a plant and go, they don’t know what they have missed!!
There’s still lots to come out too and I couldn’t manage the Lower Dell as it was getting too dark.
Open this week: Bank Holiday Monday (4th), Wednesday (6th) and Saturday (9th) and then Sunday (10th). Then our usual days of weekends and Bank Holidays until mid June.
Don’t miss it: 10.30am to 4.30pm. E 🌺!
