10 years of Anchusa Care! 💙🎉

Today we are celebrating a very special milestone as we celebrate a whole decade of Anchusa Care!

From where it all began in 2016 to the wonderful team we have today, there’s so much to look back on and be proud of.

A huge shoutout to our founder, Kelly, whose hard work, determination and vision brought Anchusa Care to life 10 years ago. What an incredible achievement!

And of course, a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey over the years. Our carers, office team, people we support and their families have all played a part in making Anchusa what it is today.

More Dementia Friends! 💙👏🏻

A familiar face joined us at the Anchusa office recently!

It was lovely to welcome Hannah back, this time bringing along her friends and family to take part in one of our Dementia Friends awareness sessions.

We had some great conversations, shared plenty of thoughts and hopefully everyone went away knowing a little more about dementia and how we can better support those living with it.

A big thank you to Hannah for getting everyone together and to everyone who came along! 💙

We’re opening up our office in Hitchin for a completely FREE Dementia Friends awareness session, and we’d love you to join us!

Whether dementia has affected someone in your family, you work with the public, or you’d simply like to learn a little more, this session is for you.

We’ll be talking about what dementia is, how it can affect someone and how we can all be a little more understanding and supportive.

FREE SLIPPERS?!!🥿💙

We wanted to share this brilliant local initiative that could help you or someone you know stay safer at home!

Hertfordshire County Council is hosting a Slipper Swap event at Letchworth Library, where you can pick up a free pair of anti-slip slippers and get some useful advice on preventing slips and falls at home.

There’s plenty more on offer too, including advice from occupational therapists, information about local groups and activities, and the opportunity to arrange a Home Fire Safety visit.

The event is completely free, there’s no need to book, and you can even enjoy a cuppa and a chat while you’re there! ☕️

More Dementia Friends! 💙👏🏻

This time, we headed to The Saint John Henry Newman School to deliver another of our Dementia Friends awareness sessions!

It was lovely to have the opportunity to speak with the students about dementia, challenge some common misconceptions and encourage conversations around how we can better understand and support people living with dementia.

A big thank you to the school for welcoming us and to all the students who took part!

It’s brilliant to see so many young people getting involved. 💙
