From the battlefields of Italy to Blackshaw Moor, discover the stories of Leek’s Polish community.
This November, *Blackshaw Moor: The Hope of New Beginnings* comes to the Nicholson Institute Museum & Art Gallery, marking 80 years since Polish soldiers were resettled at Blackshaw Moor.
Curated by the Leek Polish Connection, the exhibition explores the journeys of Polish soldiers and their families as they built new lives in Leek following the Second World War. Through photographs, heritage objects, audio recordings, personal stories and creative displays, discover stories of resilience, family, belonging and the Polish heritage that continues to shape our community today.
And there’s more! Join us every Saturday for a programme of talks, local stories, family activities and creative workshops inspired by the exhibition, including the story of Wojtek the bear and Polish Christmas traditions.
