🎭 Just wow! What an absolute joy to witness the phenomenal talent of the Camden Youth Theatre performing The Place We Made at New Diorama Theatre tonight!
We are so proud to have supported the relaunch and growth of this brilliant programme through the Cultural Education and Learning Support Fund - and tonight we got to see the incredible fruits of that investment on stage. 🌱
Created and devised by talented young people at Camden People’s Theatre, this production was packed with poignant moments, outstanding comic timing and a great lot of heart. 💛

To celebrate, over the next few weeks we’ll be spotlighting significant Jewish cultural figures connected to Camden - and we’re starting with writer Amy Levy 📖
Born in 1861, Amy Levy was the first Jewish woman to attend Newnham College, Cambridge, and one of the bold voices of the early New Woman movement. Her writing explored Jewish identity, prejudice, women’s rights and belonging with honesty, wit and courage.

🎬 UK premiere of Theocracy – The Emigrant’s Artist in the heart of Kilburn
Presented by in their gorgeous cinema, this special event will be followed by a Q&A with its subject, acclaimed Irish artist Bernard Canavan and director Sé Merry Doyle.
Known as “The Emigrant’s Artist”, Bernard’s work captures the experiences of the Irish diaspora through deeply personal and evocative paintings inspired by his own life as an Irish navvy in 1950s London. This moving documentary also explores Bernard’s own story of abandonment and institutional abuse in Ireland - and the new body of work, Theocracy, created in response to it.
