UPDATE 4 way temporary traffic lights at the junction of Loose Road with Park Way and Armstrong Road.

I am posting to bring you up to speed with the essential and emergency works.

Regretfully, the gully outside of property 110 on the northbound carriageway, has catastrophically failed. The cover is mobile, with crumbling tarmac around it and we suspect the chamber has also failed, making a temporary repair impossible. Signing and guarding on this lane would contravene safety as the gully is in the wheel line. Our only viable option is to close the northbound lane as well as closing the two southbound lanes so that there is only one lane available in each direction, so that vehicles can turn left or right at the junction safely. Then bag off the permanent lights and install 4-way signals, to ensure no traffic passes over the cover or surrounding carriageway.

Our Drainage team have acted fast and have raised a job to repair the gully, which will take place tomorrow evening, with a view to the junction being returned to normal for the weekend.

We appreciate that this is inconvenient, however, it is intended that these works will mean no further action, or disruption is caused.

Four way traffic lights at the Loose Road / Armstrong Road / Park Way junction are causing lengthy delays.

This is highway maintenance work by KCC and is due to end on the 3rd November.

I have raised an issue to try and improve the situation.

I will provide an update once I’ve received a response and update.

In the meantime like me try and avoid the area if you can.

Just had a very informative visit of Tiger Primary school and now sat down on the FAWrient Express for a sandwich and tea.

I was very impressed with the additional teaching spaces being built and shortly to open at Tiger Primary.
The Head Teacher and staff are very enthusiastic with modern facilities to aid teaching.
I would encourage local parents with primary age children to visit to see the school for yourself.

Reform on KCC vote against the elderly bus passes being considered for early morning trips to doctors simply because Restore Britain proposed it.

So the elderly in our communities aren’t worthy according to Reform Members.

Also their Cabinent and Deputy Cabinet Member and Councillor Sarah Emberson have no idea about Government emerging policy which is for disabled customers and excludes the elderly. Let’s face it Reform in Kent have absolutely no idea!
