LOT M&N provides a place where local people can borrow things - like a library, but for normal household items intended for home and domestic use.

Borrowing is an alternative to owning more things.

We have some exciting new items that have been donated!

* Garden shredder: perfect for mulching trimmings from pencil size to about an inch across

* Thermal imaging camera: see how leaky your windows are or where your insulation needs to be enhanced

Lots of other useful items as well for a small fee for a seven day loan.

Some lovely feedback from one of our members:

The Karcher carpet cleaner was shockingly good. We have cream carpets, a dog and areas were looking really dark and grubby. I thought we‘d try this, but would probably need new carpet. It looks as good as new, no exaggeration.

If a professional had cleaned them to that standard, I’d be more than happy. Small head was great for mattresses and stairs and sofas and spot cleans.

It was easy to use and your guide was good and accurate. I’d recommend people buy extra blocks, eg 2 per room of about 12 ft x12 ft.

The Library of Things will not be open next Thursday, 8 October. We will be back as usual at Omni on 15 October at 5pm.

Sometimes loan items get a bit abused - we've gone through two carpet cleaners very quickly. So we now have a bit more robust one! Already booked out for the coming week, but keep checking in if you want fresh, clean carpets.

In the meantime, how about a party in the back garden with our gazebo or some DIY now that the temperatures are a bit cooler.

The weather is getting cooler. Perfect for an outdoor event. We have two large gazebo/tents, a small portable BBQ (not for use on the Moors!), festival trolley or maybe a projector and screen for a movie night.

Just in! A donation of a large marquee/6 person tent! We also have a very nice festival trolley for moving it and a portable BBQ for outdoor festivities. Don't use disposable BBQs!!

The weather's looking good for the next while. Time to give that garden a spruce-up with our gardening tools or have a garden party with our gazebo!
