💙🧡 Today we welcomed Magnus Care to ACT Education for their first taste of our bespoke Positively Supporting Behaviour through Trauma-Informed Practices and PMVA training.

And WOW… what a team! 👏

In all my years of delivering training, I don't think I've ever had a group ask so many questions! And we absolutely LOVE that! 🙌

The discussions, curiosity, willingness to challenge thinking and genuine enthusiasm to learn were incredible.

Our training isn't just about learning techniques. It's about understanding the "WHY" behind behaviour, recognising the impact of trauma, challenging our own perceptions and, most importantly, exploring how we can reduce the need for restrictive interventions in the first place.

And today, this team embraced every bit of it!

A massive thank you to everyone from Magus Care for bringing such fantastic energy, engagement and enthusiasm into the training room.

If today was anything to go by, the people you support are in some very caring hands! 💙

We can't wait to welcome you back!

IT'S WORLD STROKE DAY!

Today, ACT Education is raising awareness of World Stroke Day, highlighting the importance of recognising the signs of a stroke and acting FAST.

A stroke can happen to anyone, at any age. Knowing the warning signs could save a life.

Remember FAST:

F – Face: Has their face drooped on one side? Can they smile?

A – Arms: Can they raise both arms and keep them there?

S – Speech: Is their speech slurred or unusual?

T – Time: If you notice any of these signs, call 999 immediately. Every second counts!

At ACT Education, we believe that knowledge, awareness and training can make a real difference. Understanding the signs of a stroke is an important step towards keeping ourselves, our families and the people we support safe.

Share this post to spread awareness — you never know whose life you could help save.

Yesterday, we welcomed back CastleView Group for a bespoke day of Positively Supporting Behaviour through Trauma-Informed Practices, followed by planned approaches to PMVA.

We explored the "why" behind behaviours, how trauma can influence the way people respond to situations, and how we can use positive, person-centred approaches to reduce the likelihood of behaviours escalating and physical intervention becoming necessary.

We then moved on to planned approaches to PMVA, focusing on the importance of safety, professionalism and using physical interventions appropriately when absolutely necessary.

A huge thank you to the Castleview team for joining us again and continuing to invest in their staff, knowledge and skills. 💙

At Act Education, we believe training should be more than just ticking a box. It's about understanding the person behind the behaviour, building confidence and giving staff practical skills they can use every day.

Today, we delivered Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism – Tier 2 supported by two amazing trainers from Hiyed CIC to a fantastic group of managers and senior team leaders from New Beginnings NE Ltd.

With this training now mandatory for relevant health and social care staff, New Beginnings has taken a proactive approach by starting with its senior leadership team. This demonstrates a real commitment to the importance of learning, leading by example, and ensuring staff have the knowledge and understanding needed to meet national guidance and deliver high-quality, person-centred support.

👏 Great leadership starts with learning!

By investing in their senior team first, New Beginnings is setting the standard and reinforcing the importance of understanding learning disability and autism, promoting inclusion, and ensuring the people they support receive the care, dignity and respect they deserve.

A huge thank you to our two fantastic HIYED trainers for their support and to New Beginnings for recognising the importance of getting this right!

If you or your team need to complete Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training, we can help!
