⭐️ WE NEED TO DUAL THE A47 ⭐️

As the Chair of the A47 Alliance - we need to continue to make the case for investment in the infrastructure our Region needs to grow. 💪

Increased congestion affects everyday journeys to work, school and hospital, - reliable transport links are essential for businesses and future investment. 📈

I shall continue working with partners to keep the A47 firmly on the agenda and make the case for the infrastructure needed to ensure growth benefits local people. 💙

⭐️ THE WISBECH GAP ⭐️

I have a plan to ‘plug the gap’ at 11/12 High Street, . At my Funding Committee on Monday I shall be asking members to approve the allocation of Capital Funding as part of a High Street Regeneration Project 💪

The building has sat there decaying for 20 plus years. We need action 👍

Together with Fenland District Council, all the Wisbech Councillors and the local MP Steve Barclay - we are going to get this done 💙

⭐️ NEW - THORPE WOOD HOSPITAL ⭐️

Took a look at the new Thorpe Wood Hospital, will serve as an extension to the nearby Fitzwilliam Hospital from 2027. It will provide a split of 60% NHS appointments and 40% via private insurance 👩‍⚕️

In time this will be 4,500 surgeries and 25,000 consultations and scans each year. All on top of the new NHS Diagnostic Centre I got funding for which will provide over 67,000 scans, checks and tests every year. Proud to see plans that started when I was the local MP now being finishing as the Mayor 💙

Myself and other local politicians were shown around by Gary and a team from Ramsey Healthcare - and I even found out the Leader of the Council’s husband works at the Fitzwilliam Hospital 😊

⭐️ ENCOCAM VISIT⭐️

Great to visit to advanced manufacturing company in Encocam Ltd - who are innovation and export led local business 👨‍💼

They are a world leading supplier of crash test barriers, crash test dummies, impactors and safety testing equipment 🚗

We discussed workforce development, business growth and they got me practicing for the imminent arrival of a new Bristow 😂

⭐️ POPPY APPEAL ⭐️

With one of my favourite people today Sandy Foster (and her husband Malcolm) as the Poppy Appeal is swinging into action 🌺

Went to the Royal British Legion Peterborough Branch caravan today on Bridge Street 💙

Sandy has been doing this for 50+ years and Malcolm for 25+.

My wonderful friends 🙏

I went to AMFRESHGroup at Weald to see their Innovation Centre - to see how they help growers get the right taste, texture and size of their fruit 🍇

Innovation in our Region is not just about life sciences - it’s a whole range of sectors including Agri-Tech. That is why our Region will thrive and grow making us all healthier, wealthier and happier 💙

⭐️ STONEA BRIDGE ⭐️

Stonea Bridge, in Fens, one of the UK's most frequently struck railway bridges with frequent collisions from high-sided vehicles, vans, and caravans due to drivers misjudging height limits 😮

I was invited on a site visit and despite the local MP, councillors and residents campaigning - Cambridgeshire County Council and Network Rail have still not acted 😔

Someone has to take responsibility. I shall join the campaign to get a modern crossing a solution to this very real problem 💙
