What a week! 👻🎃 Halloween celebrations started early with our Poole Farm Open Access groups and Efford Youth Centre groups—and there were plenty of spooky smiles along the way!

A huge thank you to Sienna and Leo, two of our brilliant young people, who were behind the camera as photographers for the evening at Efford. You did a super job! 📸

Wishing all our young people a happy Halloween. Have fun, look out for each other and stay safe! 🧡

Our Detached Youth Workers will be out and about today in Southway and the city centre. Give us a wave if you see us! 🦇

🍝 CONFIDENCE IN THE KITCHEN 🍝

Cooking activities in our sessions at Honicknowle Youth & Community Centre are about so much more than what’s on the plate! They provide young people with a fun, supportive space to develop practical kitchen skills, build confidence, explore nutrition and discover new foods and flavours.

With the support of our youth workers, young people can learn by doing, get creative, work together and try new things in a relaxed environment. Recently, we have made tomato and mascarpone pasta, cinnamon swirls, chocolate chip cookies, fruit smoothies and snickerdoodles! 🍉

These sessions help young people develop independence, teamwork and life skills that they can take beyond the kitchen 🍽

⭐ YOUNG CARERS AT THE SCRUTINY PANEL ⭐

Last week two of our young carers had the opportunity to attend the Children, Young People and Families scrutiny panel at the Council House. This panel meeting is made up of multiple councillors and senior commissioning officers and our young carers had the opportunity to ask some compelling questions about the Young Carers services across the city.

Their questions were thought-provoking, purposeful and challenging and have resulted in a number of excellent recommendations, in which they will be involved with as time goes on. This was an excellent opportunity to use their voices on behalf of the hundreds of seen and unseen young carers across Plymouth.

Well done Clover and Jess! ✨
