Firefighters at West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) are asking people to celebrate safely this Bonfire Night by choosing organised displays and avoiding unnecessary risks.

Bonfires and fireworks can lead to risks of serious burns if not lit, and supervised with caution. Attending an organised event means you can enjoy the celebrations with family and friends, knowing the appropriate safety measures are in place.

Ever wondered what a Youth Worker actually does? 🤔

Well, in just one week we've:
🎃 Carved pumpkins
🧹 Swept up after mummies
🤣 Played silly games
🚴 Gone biking

No two days are ever the same!

The best part? Every activity is a chance to have fun, make new friends, build confidence, learn new skills, and create memories together.

That's what youth work is all about: helping young people grow, belong and thrive 💙

Day 2 | National Youth Work Week 2026

Big dreams need the right support. Youth work helps turn aspirations into achievements by creating opportunities, building confidence and unlocking potential.

03/11/2026

As part of National Youth Work Week, young people at Agbrigg & Belle Vue Community Centre Youth Club have been creating their own Windows to the Future, sharing their hopes, dreams and ambitions for the years ahead.

Each window tells a unique story of aspiration, potential and possibility. They showcase the importance of youth work, safe youth spaces and community opportunities in helping young people build confidence, develop skills and work towards the futures they want for themselves.

We're proud to celebrate the voices, creativity and ambitions of our young people, and the positive impact that youth workers and local communities can have in supporting them on their journey.

👀 Keep an eye on our page this week as we share more Windows to the Future creations!
