📕 Book of The Week 📕

In 1850s South Carolina, an enslaved woman's daughter is sold.

Rose packed a cotton sack for her daughter with a few items. Soon after, Ashley was separated from her mother & sold. Decades later, Ashley's granddaughter, Ruth, embroidered this family history on the sack. Historian Tiya Miles carefully traces these women through archival records.
